I should have mentioned the Church of Jesus Christ has replaced Israel. Current political Israel is not the theocracy of Israel in the Old Testament. In addition, too many have swallowed William Darby's hijacking of the Book of Revelation about 200 years ago, erasing 1,800 years of the Church's doctrine and so this is how Evangelicals are all in love with Israel. Ironic if you go to Israel and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they will deport you on the next airline out. The Church is also silent on the clear genocide of Palestinian civilians, cutting off food, water, electricity, and medical care even from women and children, not to mention bulldozing buildings just to make life as unbearable as possible. There are Christian Palestinians suffers and the Church is silent because they are confused as to who is who. We are the Church; there isn't a second entity equal to the Church of Jesus Christ. There is only one bride of Christ.

Yes, but God does not change over time. What he said thousands of years ago still stands today. Though there is no more division between Jew and Gentile spiritually(Ephesians 2), the Jews are still God’s chosen people. History is a testimony to that. Both of us are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, but the Jews still hold many promises from God.

This has not been the historic belief of the Church. Read the 3rd Chapter of Galatians. There is only one bride of Christ, the Church. Galatians Chapter 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Agreed. We are grafted in. Romans 11:11-32 is an awesome discussion on this. The Jews will be grafted in again someday as we are. Salvation has come to us Gentiles to try and provoke the Jews to jealousy. Wow, that is humbling. What an incredible chapter! “For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭24‬

I gotta read Romans again…

Thanks for the discussion!

All sinners should be welcome to attend any church. The problem arises when the sinners are running the church. Clearly the UMC no longer believes what the Scriptures clearly teach. No sermons on sin, repentance, and holy living, just love, love, love. Go read some of Rev. John Wesley's sermons and see if you hear anything even remotely as powerful. When UMC churches have liturgical dancers, you know the ebb tide is indeed out. Yes, I saw this in a local UMC while on vacation. I wish there was a local Methodist Church on fire for God, as I would love to worship there, so my truth about the UMC isn't coming from someone who doesn't love the old Methodist doctrine. The Rev. John Wesley always said he wasn't worried about the Methodists going away, but he was worried about their long-term spiritual condition. He knew the danger of just flowing with the tide and human nature and knew how a church founded in a white-hot revival can cool as cold as ice.

I pray for the believers within the UMC. God had given some the grace to stay, whereas others have been led elsewhere. My prayer is for a spirit of repentance, which is a gift from God. And not just for the UMC, but for myself and all in God’s church.

I know what they passed. I’m proud of what they passed. We welcome everyone who wants to attend regardless of their beliefs. I hope you find another denomination that is a better fit for you, and would appreciate it if you could stop slandering your former denomination.

Awesome. I’ve spoken to so many who have no idea what was passed, and who’ve heard varying stories from their leaders. You are correct, all should be welcome, and all are welcome as best as I know. No slander presented here, just God’s words…scripture.
